Malaika

I was born in Malaysia in 2006 to a Chinese mother and German father. After moving to Singapore and then Hong Kong, I currently live in Germany where I attend an English speaking international school. I have been playing classical piano since age 4 and have been regularly performing in public since age 6. My biggest performances so far have been my own evening concert at the Oratorium of the Louvre Museum in Paris, France in 2018, and as a guest pianist of the Kammerorchester Unter den Linden at the Berliner Philharmonie in 2019. Another Concert in Paris has been cancelled two years in a row due to the Covid 19 pandemic, but has now been rescheduled for March 2022. Besides playing classical piano, I also enjoy composing modern songs and playing guitar. In 2020 I won the German national songwriting contest "Treffen Junge Musikszene" and in 2021 I won 3rd prize in the international songwriting constest "Dein Song für eine Welt" by Engagement Global. For this my song "In a dream" will be professionally recorded in a studio in Berlin and will appear on the "Eine Welt" album in 2022. In 2021 I also made it onto the 14th season of the TV show "Dein Song" with my song "Done". This show will be aired on ZDF/KiKa during February and March 2022.
